Transitional Home Frequently Asked Questions
What is a transitional home?
A transitional home is a structured, supportive living environment designed to help individuals successfully transition to independent living. Our homes provide stability, accountability, and guidance while residents work toward personal, educational, vocational, and recovery goals.
What makes your transitional homes different?
We focus on long-term success, not just providing housing. Our approach emphasizes accountability, recovery, personal growth, and practical life skills, helping residents build a strong foundation for independent living. We also lead with doing our best to offer private rooms in our homes whenever possible, as we believe personal space supports dignity, healing, and stability during the transition process.
How long can someone stay in the transitional home?
Length of stay depends on individual needs and progress. Typical stays range from 3 to 24 months, with extensions considered based on goal completion, engagement, and housing readiness.
Who is eligible for your transitional homes?
Eligibility varies but generally includes individuals who are:
-
Transitioning from treatment, incarceration, homelessness, or unstable housing
-
In recovery and committed to maintaining sobriety (when applicable)
-
Motivated to participate in structured programming
-
Able to follow house rules and community guidelines
Each applicant goes through an intake and assessment process to ensure a good fit.

Learning about Our Different Type of Homes
Sober Living / Recovery Homes
Our residents enjoy private rooms that ensure comfort and privacy, and we also occasionally provide non-private rooms and shared living spaces in our generously sized areas (such as bonus rooms or enclosed climate control garages that have been converted to a living space) to promote a sense of community and accountability. They are surrounded by peers who understand the challenges of recovery, creating a supportive atmosphere where individuals can share experiences and encouragement. Additionally, our sober living homes implement rules and guidelines to promote a drug-free environment, including mandatory attendance at support meetings, regular drug testing, and participation in household responsibilities. All utilities and WiFi are included.
Flex Spaces
Discover our "Flex Spaces" - fully furnished homes designed for residents who value a private room while sharing a welcoming environment with others. Ideal for those seeking temporary housing during contract jobs, individuals who prefer companionship, or those transitioning to independent living but not yet ready for their place. Our flex spaces offer a supportive community atmosphere tailored to meet your needs. All utilities and WiFi included.
Additionally, we provide optional programs to assist our residents in developing independence and financial literacy, available at no extra cost upon request. These resources are designed to empower our residents and enhance their living experience.
Each of our transitional homes are thoughtfully curated to cater to specific populations, such as those in recovery from substance and alcohol abuse, veterans, seniors, re-entry back into society or navigating through life's transitions. This tailored approach ensures that residents are surrounded by peers who share similar experiences and challenges, fostering a sense of community and understanding.
By creating homes that focus on distinct demographics, we can better address the unique needs of each group. For instance, some homes may exclusively service individuals in recovery, providing specialized resources and programs designed to facilitate healing and growth. In contrast, other homes may be dedicated to veterans or seniors, offering a supportive atmosphere while granting access to vital programs that enhance their quality of life. Our commitment is to empower every resident as they navigate their personal journey, providing the resources and community necessary for lasting success.
